Contractor Employee Specialist

Working as a Contractor

With the extensive support from Q CLEAN, all customer invoicing, correspondence and re-stocking are taken care of by us which allows you to be assured that you receive regular and prompt monthly payment of your invoice for the services provided.

Personal Requirements

To be a cleaner with Q CLEAN the following personal traits are required.

Mature, energetic, well presented, polite and punctual team member.
Australian residency or Permanent resident status.
Good command of the English language.
Competent English reading and writing skills.
Ownership and competent use of a mobile phone with camera, voice mail, Short Message Service (SMS), email and internet connection.

Professional Requirements

To be a contractor with Q CLEAN requires an understanding of our work arrangement. The below information highlights the main points relating to this work arrangement.

You must have and always hold a current Australian Business Number (ABN).
You must have and always hold a current Public Liability Insurance policy of no less than $10 million.
You must have and always hold a current Personal Accident Insurance policy.
You are not permitted to sub-contract our work out or allocate our work to your employees without our prior approval.
A set monetary amount per service is paid to achieve the desired result as outlined in each sites Cleaning Duties list.
Failure to achieve the desired result as outlined in the sites Cleaning Duties list may result in either partial payment for the service or rectification of the particular issue(s) at no cost to Q CLEAN.
Payment for services provided is made upon the issue of an Australian Taxation Office (ATO) compliant tax invoice and subject to the terms of our nett 7-day payment period.
A portion of your payment (47%) must be withheld by us if you do not quote your ABN on your tax invoice.
You are responsible for your own tax obligations unless a Voluntary Agreement to withhold tax from payments is entered into with Q CLEAN.
You are responsible for the supply and maintenance of your own Q CLEAN approved equipment and management of your own Q CLEAN approved consumables and chemicals required to achieve the desired result as outlined in the sites Cleaning Duties list.
You are responsible for organising Electrical Testing and Tagging of all your own electrical equipment used whilst servicing Q CLEAN sites.
You must have a current Driver´s License and be responsible for the supply and maintenance of a serviceable, reliable, presentable motor vehicle required to transport you and your equipment between sites.
You are required to wear the Q CLEAN uniform (polo shirt only) whilst representing / performing work for Q CLEAN.
While wearing the Q CLEAN uniform or while working on Q CLEAN sites, any and all new work enquiries are to be forwarded to Q CLEAN.

Equipment Requirements

Whilst engaged by Q CLEAN you are required to hold the following equipment, consumables and chemicals.

Qty 1 - Commercial back-pack vacuum cleaner (or equivalent).
Qty 1 - Vacuum cleaner combination floor tool.
Qty 1 - Vacuum cleaner gulper floor tool.
Qty 1 - Oates Duraclean Mark II wringer mop bucket (recommended).
Qty 1 - Aluminium light-weight mop handle.
Qty 1 - Oates 400gm durable mop head (or equivalent).
Qty 1 - Non-slip ´Caution Wet Floor Cleaning In Progress´ a-frame sign.
Qty 1 - 30cm soft to medium bristled indoor broom with handle.
Qty 1 - Telescopic feather duster.
Qty 1 - Telescopic indoor de-cobweb broom.
Qty 1 - Oates 60cm (18ltr) window cleaning (carry kit) bucket (or equivalent) containing:
- Qty 3 - 500ml spray bottles with chemically resistant trigger sprays.
- Qty 1 - 1ltr bottle with flip-top cap.
- Qty 1 - 10cm x 15cm green scouring pad.
- Qty 1 - 10 pack (blue) heavy duty (lint free) cleaning cloths.
- Qty 1 - 20 pack (green) Chux cleaning cloths.
- Qty 1 - 20 pack (red) Chux cleaning cloths.
- Qty 1 - 20 pack (yellow) Chux cleaning cloths.
- Qty 1 - Pack microfibre cleaning cloths.

Consumables

Qty 1 - 27ltr 1000 pack of garbage bags.
Qty 1 - 82ltr 500 pack of garbage bags.
Qty 1 - 100 pack lightly powdered protective disposable gloves.

Chemicals

Qty 1 - 5ltr (Septone Lemon X5) general purpose cleaning chemical (or equivalent).
Qty 1 - 5ltr (Septone Reflection) window cleaning chemical (or equivalent).
Qty 1 - 5ltr (Septone Bright Bowl) toilet bowl cleaning chemical (or equivalent).

How To Apply

Following the completion and submission of your Contractor - Application Form it will be automatically entered into our database and a copy emailed to you.

All submitted applications will either be assessed sometime following submission or immediately following the application closing date should one apply.

Only applicants that make our short list or who are of particular interest to us will be contacted.

Making our short list means that you have been grouped into a specific pool of applicants who exhibit the traits required to progress onto the final stage.

The Final Stage

The final stage is an informal interview which will be conducted for both parties to become acquainted with each other and answer questions.

Should you be successfully selected by Q CLEAN as a contract cleaner the following will be required:

Information and documentation (business and personal) to verify your application.
Successful completion of a National Criminal History Check (renewed every 3 years).
Sighting of vehicle, cleaning equipment and consumables.
Off-site training (for a minimum of 1 session).
On-site training (for a minimum of 1 service).
Probation period of 3 months.

If successful and pending completion of the probation period additional work can be sourced in your specified catchment area.

If you were interviewed but unsuccessful do not despair as there are times when interviewees for one reason or another are called upon shortly afterwards to fill a vacancy.

Working as a Specialist

As a specialist working with Q CLEAN it is business as usual. We are just another one of your customers. No alterations to your credit and / or payment terms. No restrictions to the way you normally work. No telling you how to do what you do best.

Flexibility allows you to scheduled our requests for service within your normal client base workload like you would any other client.

And of course, just like any other client, we do take an interest in knowing that you do hold valid trade specific licences, certifications and insurances.

As we run a very customer orientated service driven business, you would be informed of all jobs via both telephone and email with the intent to quickly establish a service date and arrival time. This information along with any specialised instructions you may give us will be passed on to our customer ensuring that they are aware of what to expect and when to expect it.

To be a specialist with Q CLEAN requires an understanding of our work arrangement. The below information highlights the main points relating to this work arrangement.

You must have and always hold a current Australian Business Number (ABN).
You must have and always hold a current Public Liability Insurance policy of no less than $10 million.
You are not permitted to sub-contract our work out without our prior approval.
Any quotes provided to us are to be honoured unless extenuating circumstances beyond our control alter the chargeable amount and only upon the approval of Q CLEAN.
Any requests by the customer to alter the job are to be communicated immediately and directly to Q CLEAN.
At no point in time should pricing (either quoted or adjusted) be discussed with the customer directly. Q CLEAN will contact the customer should a quoted price need to be adjusted.
Failure to achieve the desired result as outlined in the job specification may result in either partial payment for the service or rectification of the particular issue(s) at no cost to Q CLEAN or our customer.
Payment for services provided is made upon the issue of an Australian Taxation Office (ATO) compliant tax invoice and subject to your payment terms.
A portion of your payment (46.5%) must be withheld by us if you do not quote your ABN on your tax invoice.
You are responsible for the supply and maintenance of your own equipment and management of your own consumables and chemicals required to achieve the desired result as outlined in our Request For Work.
You are responsible for organising Electrical Testing and Tagging of all your own electrical equipment used whilst servicing Q CLEAN sites.
You are responsible for organising Maintenance and Servicing's of all your plant and equipment that will be used whilst servicing Q CLEAN sites.
You must have a current Driver´s License and be responsible for the supply and maintenance of a serviceable, reliable, presentable motor vehicle required to transport you and your equipment between sites.
You are required to wear clean presentable clothing which identifies your business whilst representing / performing work for Q CLEAN.
Whilst working on Q CLEAN sites, any and all new work enquiries are to be forwarded to Q CLEAN.
